Bitter Bloggings from an Optimistic Actress: I happen to Like New York

I spent the Summer in NYC--I will be honest I always miss it when I leave.  We have a few days left and I will say, I have really loved the experience.

For me, it is THE AMERICAN CITY.  If you like LA, great.  Atlanta...Awesome.  Chicago,  I 100% get it.  But even though it has changed, I still love it.  The speed of it, the energy, yes even the "Stink of it".

I have finally gotten into the groove.

Wake up, go outside on alt Street days to move the car.  Grab breakfast with the hubby and the doggy.  Hop the train.  Run to my first audition.  Wait.  Try to hop on a few alternate lists at the local AEA.  Hop the train home.  Cook dinner...or go out because sometimes cooking can be a mess.  Find a show or movie to go to.  Come home.  Snuggle the dog.  Watch TV or write.  Sleep.  It seems monotonous but I have gotten to the point I love auditioning.  2 minutes of getting to perform.  Even if that is all I do today it is a few moments to try something that may or may not work.  To refine.  To perfect.  To be human.

I love walking 12k or more steps a day and not needing a car.  Sure it's almost three dollars for each train passage one way, but it's great.

It's my routine and welcome to it.

Is this the New York of ten years ago.  No it isn't.  It's got a different energy.  A different life.  But it is always a great reminder of how determined humanity is.  How strong,  How Stubborn.  Often times, how gross, but it trudges forward.
